I definitely struggle with the skill-observation imbalance even now after a lifetime of self-teaching, so I like the previous poster's idea of using it as an emotional exercise. Frustration will never stop happening no matter how good you get. So you might as well make it work in your favor.

Frustration tolerance is a crucial part of fostering artistic growth. Most artists are self-taught, we've all been there. I want you to know that visual art is more flexible and open source than any other skill so there are 1,001 ways to overcome this roadblock, or to turn it into a mental exercise.

If you choose to keep your frustrations private, that's okay. Nobody has to see your mistakes if you don't want them to. Just share your victories.
On the other hand, sharing your mistakes can be helpful. Artists love sharing tips and advice, and being open can help alleviate some of the shame.
