I very much appreciated House of Lightning. Yet, I was startled by the F-bombs, not expecting that in a period piece. What would have been the common curse word then?

Having seen Whitford as a drunken spouse to a president (Netflix - The Diplomat), I was fine with his portrayal as Blaine.

Before he died, Daniel Ellsberg talked to John Mecklin in 2018 about how he couldn’t get a book about nuclear weapons published, and how much nobody wanted to do anything about nuclear threats.

Ending the movie without saying the specific orders was smart. We know it is bad, but not the level of how horrific it is for everyone.

AF1 doesn't have the same maneuverability as a smaller craft and it is dependent on the destination.

Describing the contents of the notebook as being divided into three sections of rare, medium, & well-done is very simplistic but gets the point across to a general audience.

Listening to the talk given by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists was helpful

The codes which allow the President of the U.S. to authorize a nuclear attack are printed on a plastic card nicknamed "the biscuit."

The President keeps it on his person at all times. He might not be carrying cash, but he will have that.

(Well, for Trump, I dunno if that still holds true)

Not knowing who is responsible is a stretch of the imagination. But it's a good plot device for the movie.

"Go West."

Considering the traffic in the DMV, that would really only be feasible for those living in Virginia. Perhaps those in DC too.

It would be too long of a time period to get through for those living in Maryland (especially PG & MoCo) if time is an issue due to more strikes.
