Maybe but not necessarily. Women are over-represented in family law and under-represented in the legal aspects of the software business. These gaps are present even within the same law firms with the same culture and policies. Might just be differences in interest.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a difference pre- and post-awokening. I'm in an area of the law where the hiring pool is highly white male yet for several years there have been broad pressures to hire women and minorities beyond their actual presence. You have to lower qualifications to do it.
