One MVP is not 4 MVPs. A good season on a good team is the standard for the first or second MVP after that it's a narrative award. It's why Karl Malone won over Jordan in 98. SGA is not going for his 4th.

All true, but after a while if he doesn't win anything doesn't he turn into the best version of a good stats bad team guy.

The argument that the best stats guy shouldn't win every year is, at some point, winng needs to matter too. He's amazing, but 4 MVPs are reserved for legends. All of whom have more than one ring. There's a ceiling for a guy w/ one ring.

SGA: Great numbers and he's the best player on the best team. You can't have 4 MVPs and only 1 ring. That feels like irresponsible voting.

Yup. There was plenty of years where I wasn't a fan (2015 comes to mind) but I've decided to let bygones be bygones...for now at least. 😉
