Is there a channel/thread on here called What the F*ck is this?!

Would welcome answers. For context found it in a field on my walk this evening. North East England. 30 meters from a river.

Currently reading about the conditions in which the victims of Jack the Ripper lived. I don’t think populist attitudes have changed towards those less well off.

Everyone should visit deaths camps from history. Perhaps then they wouldn’t be so flippant with their bigotry.

I was thinking about my Dad today, referenced in this article from Hartlepool Mail in 1962 (dark glasses and banner). A member of CND and youngest Labour Councillor (aged 24) in the country. He was involved in the Aldermaston marches. Proud 😊

I was thinking of books I’d recommend for #booksky East West Street by Philippe Sands is definite.

It covers aspects of WWII, a family journey, the development of legal concepts (genocide and crimes against humanity) and how the children of prominent Nazis deal reconcile the issues. Brilliant!

Just finished ‘Fake Heroes’ by @ottoenglish.bsky.social . I thoroughly recommend it.

It emphasises the importance of understanding people in the round and the dangers of idolatry.

Pleased to see mention of John Wayne, who I’d already read about through Frank Zappa’s encounters with him.
