Once again my memory fails to recall which game but I’m pretty sure a log in hey pikmin mentions he believes her to be supportive “in her own way” even when his direct recollection frames her as a lot more distant towards his absences and such,,

I kind of interpret the idea of actually cheating as intrusive thoughts on his end since the marriage is clearly suffering, but also idea of her suspecting that validates some of his fears he occasionally expresses even when vague. he takes her anger as a sign of her showing love her own way

reminds me of one of the eng logs where I think he mentions wondering if his wife actually misses him and then u have this realization that she DOES care but in the context of her suspecting that… no one’s allowed to be happy good lord

I need to like. Gather all these and furiously analyze them…

Especially thinking of the perspective of a child playing and then looking back on it later. It reminds me a lot of the little things I didn’t realize until much later abt life even if I myself am a newer fan

But yeah,, covering up the flaws only makes her more stereotypical and bland imo, like it makes her feel like way less of an actual character and just. A prop they add in just so you know she exists rather than actually being a part of the little world

And the biggest issue I have with the new ones being overall friendlier is it erases a LOT of context to Olimar’s overall situation and makes it harder to feel for a character

This is another one that annoys me, like why bother having this AT ALL if it’s not to create suspense about what’s happening back home. I do get making shifts to a point but to completely erase the subtext? Lame asf. they did that with the president too I think. Some of his are friendlier
