Neat.

I don’t know if someone will find this info useful, but I just realised that you can still download Nintendo 3DS games that you had already purchased from the eShop

Semi off-topic, but kind reminder for all gamers out there: do wash your hands before you play games please 🥹 (not sure if this is gunk or tobacco tar though. NOT my joycons, this was a repair)

I just received this treasure and I’m equally excited and scared. I reckon I’ll use it more as a reference than reading material, but the amount of good info contained in this book is nuts.

Btw, this is a 70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus+. If someone has the same issues, this is how to open it up: peel off part of the sticker on the back, it has two screws, remove them (phillips 00 screw). Then use a pick or similar to undo the upper tabs. It has two more tabs at the bottom.

Once I soldered the wire to the correct pin, the battery now measured 3.2V, which is really low for a 4V battery, but more normal than 0V. This is a picture of the way the wires are connected to the battery. Sorry if it is not super visible, as I took these after I fixed the dashcam

I opened it up without a clue of what could be wrong. First thing I encountered was the battery when I opened it up, so I measured it: 0 volts. Hmmmmmm that’s not normal

Also, the actual win of the day: this dashcam was absolutely non-responsive when I received it, it wouldn’t turn on unless plugged in to USB, and even then it would boot loop most times

Keep reading thread for diagnosis

Forgot to add a picture of it turned on :)

Finally I had to use the upper new case and the old bottom case because it simply didn’t fit in the bottom new case. The result is pretty neat, although I’d want to fix the yellowing on the bottom case at some point. Before and after pictures here

Well, that was a pain in the B. to reassemble… last image was taken yesterday before giving up for the day, the board is not sitting in its place properly and the console case won’t clip. Frustrating, although it’ll be worth it. Planning on making a thread on the process when it’s completed

If the screen on your iPad is cracked, with luck it can be fixed by replacing the digitizer (cheap repair). But if it does this, you are probably looking at an LCD replacement (not so cheap repair)
