Other than some large hotels, the affected area is mostly industrial and commercial. Very few (as in, maybe one or two) residences in the area. Doesn't reduce the need to evacuate if you are working or shopping there, however.

Picked can also mean selected. I can go to a supermarket and pick 5 of the ripest looking avocados without going near an avocado tree.

I did my part. Even made a batch of no-salt-added beans for a couple friends with dietary restrictions. But everyone at our NYD party ate a serving of black-eyed peas. Just like my Minnesota Swede mom always made!

Back in the '60's we had flocked trees for a few years (until my mom decided they were too hard to clean up). This flocked tree is much more beautiful than any we had!
