The Magdalen Writing

I have a doctorate in English literature and work in a library, which probably explains everything you are about to read. Proud member of Vatican II's Lost Generation.
Obviously not the same thing but any time anyone brings up cats and Christmas I remember this one.

My fabulous but alas unused #nokings sign. My mom is on antibiotics courtesy of Medicare and should make a swift recovery. Take that, fascists!

I am getting a fair bit done on this silly cross stitch project, though.

We are permitted to bring 2 extra books from home to be signed! I have my copy of “A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking” and a godchild’s copy of “Whiskerella.”

Previous painting is a watercolor by John Howell Wilson (1847-1912). I’m a sucker for winter landscapes and sunsets.

New acq is an oil painting by PA artist Constance Lepley Poulterer (1920-2000). Frame is original and will need some loving care eventually.

Bought another painting and had to rearrange things a bit. Usually I overestimate size but in this case I severely underestimated it. New acquisition *just* fits over the mantel.

This arrived today! (There may be a typo in the Latin piece? I want to read “prope” for “propre” but my Latin can be shaky.)
