Yes I didn't blame them at all. I was always confused as to why my fellow children didn't know about movie starlets. Turns out I just had a special interest that they didn't share. The only adults who knew who she was were much older and or my Mom.

I decided to be Dorothy Dandridge for Halloween after seeing this. I think I was in the 4th grade and I was just disgusted that no one in my classmates didn't know who she was. Adult me now realizes I went to a predominantly white, Lutheran Private School. Of course they didn't know her. 🥲
