On 23rd Sept 1944 (his birthday), Sgt Patrick Murphy 4th Royal Welch Fus🇬🇧, who was born in Co Limerick🇮🇪 & lived in Liverpool🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, died aged 37 & was buried in Valkenswaard🇳🇱 the 1st village to be liberated in the British advance into Holland in Sept 1944 during Op Market Garden,from Ger Browne on X

Later shot down at Arnhem ☘️

1943 Capt Joseph "Tiny" Beglin from South Circular Road, Dublin was mortally wounded at Capracotta, Italy while serving with the Inniskilling Fusiliers. The Beglins lost three sons & a brother-in-law was a POW in a Japanese camp.
