I moved to Bluesky for higher quality content that I’m more aligned with which is true to some extent. However I realized what I really like about it is *less* content and that I like zero even better. So I think I’m getting off of Bluesky as well. I didn’t need better social media but none.

this is sick! first-class animation support in React. it uses the browser API under the hood but there’s cool subtle details about how the integration works. for example, it delays Effects (until the transition finishes) and batches multiple pending transitions in one (if many get queued too fast).
Today we're sharing that View Transitions and Activity are ready to try in the experimental channel, along with docs and updates on other areas we're actively working on:

huge shoutout to @zoontek.me - his work dragging the @reactnative.dev ecosystem kicking and screaming to support modern Android has been incredible. finally merged this PR that he kindly opened for us - a rare PR that deletes/simplifies a bunch of gnarly code and fixes a ton of bugs all at once 🎉

Dopée par l'IA, la demande d'électricité pour les centres de données devrait plus que doubler d'ici 2030, selon un rapport de l'Agence internationale de l'énergie (AIE). Cet appétit énergivore représente un facteur de hausse des émissions de CO2.

You’ve probably built an app that “works offline” — until it doesn’t...

Data gets out of sync, conflicts pop up, and suddenly you’re debugging your own sync protocol. With @tur.so and Expo, local-first just got a whole lot easier.

For all that spiritual jazz has spread out aesthetically and geographically, it remains powerfully rooted—and still provides the same nourishment that it has for six decades and counting. Here's a handy primer.

This is actually really funny to me. While react developers are criticizing RSCs because it's viewed as abandoning SPAs, anti-react developers are criticizing react SPAs by citing issues from the 2010s solved by RSC.

I think I can finally explain Actions. Actions are functions that are called inside Transitions. It's similar to how events are functions called inside event handlers.
