In our @climate-policy.bsky.social editorial @yacobmulugetta.bsky.social, @pieterpauw.bsky.social and I unpack what today's uncertain times mean for climate policy. We argue for renewed attention, but with greater focus on how climate policy is embedded in larger political and economic questions.

Welcome comments on my recent @projectsyndicate.bsky.social piece, in which I explore the merits of re-framing climate futures as a choice among development pathways. Key is state capacity to develop a domestically owned vision of a low-carbon, competitive and resilient economy.
In many countries, the most effective climate policy over the long term might be one that shapes structural choices around urbanization and industrialization, rather than one narrowly addressing emissions regulation, @ndubash.bsky.social observes.

My take on @COP29 in Baku and what it might mean for India's climate politics and policy shared by my colleagues @sustainablefutures.org
@ndubash.bsky.social, writing on climate change in India Today’s 'India @ 2025' special issue, argues for keeping the pressure on developed countries for emissions reductions and finance but also suggests three key domestic priorities for India -- see thread below
