But, given where this front office is in terms of pitching and analytics, it feels like something this problematic would at least be addressed in the off-season. Adjusting an organizational philosophy on the fly seems like a huge challenge, but not addressing it seems so antithetical.

Republicans have apparently no problem riding amoral positions to electoral success. Democrats shouldn't shy away from taking moral positions in seeking electoral success. There's no authenticity in triangulating morality to see what tests well with a focus group.
