The way search engines are being impacted by profit is disheartening! Not to mention how there has been a shift from popular information sources (like news outlets) to community-sourced answers.

The way search engines are being impacted by profit is disheartening! Not to mention how there has been a shift from popular information sources (like news outlets) to community-sourced answers.
It's interesting to view pages as static or dynamic, but when we look at Wikipedia, it's become common to rely on it despite the ability to edit any page. In some ways, it's amazing to see the collaboration in this digital encyclopedia.

One good example would be TikTok as the "For You" page is built through an algorithm that studies exactly what keeps users on the platform. It reminds me of the hacking mentioned in week one of INFO 246!
