I don’t see how anyone can sleep right now if you actually have enough sense to read the newly released Epstein emails. Ever played Jenga? Whatever is in those files is the block that topples the entire system. I say let it topple. I don’t want a system that protects sexual predators.

🧵/2 …people will actually like democratic socialism. As a result, they’re directly targeting American voters for voting how they want by calling them “neo-Marxists”. The people are speaking, they clearly don’t want to go backward nor do they trust their establishment politicians.

🧵/1 Democrats and progressives are tired of the establishment. We actually want people to listen to us. Democratic socialism and social democracy are the same thing. Such an ideology is compatible with democracy. On the other hand, national socialism is not. The right is scared that people will…

A totalitarian state doesn’t just punish it’s enemies by death. They usually torture you first. Then once you’ve been broken enough, they force you to confess your disobedience, then they execute you.

If you didn’t cry over Jim Jones, why would you cry over Charlie Kirk?

Religion is how abuse gets normalized. Religion has always been about power, not love. Love is biological, not the embodiment of some divine entity. Religion contradicts humanism. White men especially love religions like Christianity because it helps them maintain existing power structures.

It’s the brainworm combined with attempts at anally administering heroin.
In a marathon hearing on Thursday before the Senate Finance Committee, RFK Jr. faced a barrage of questions from senators who were outraged by his recent actions.

In some cases, Kennedy appeared to promote flat-out lies.
RFK Jr. is living in a pretend anti-vax world
Unfortunately, he is wreaking havoc in the real one.

My government professor shared this in our lecture on political parties, I think everyone should watch. Other countries are doing it way better than we are.

If venous outflow disturbance exists it can turn the brain into a clogged toilet and potentially cause a cascade of neuro-catastrophic symptoms. So that’s what’s wrong with him lol

Mango being diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency is the best news I’ve heard all day.

I kind of like having fewer friends. I’m able to learn more without having someone else in my ear (other than a professor). I’d rather have a significant other as my best friend, along with a few close friends.

1/🧵This type of language is not just sick and disgusting, it’s dangerous. Rape and incest are rape and incest, not expressions of love. I don’t ever want to hear again that Christians are more moral and ethical than non-Christians. You literally believe in a religion that normalizes misogyny…

I find LessWrong an interesting forum to get deep (very nerdy) discussions going, I was recently prompted to make some of my posts into a "Sequence" (a series of posts on a topic)—So, here's my first 'Game Theory's Poster-Child & Friends'. If you haven't been there I recommend it, it's... different.
This series deals with the problematic nature of the Prisoner's Dilemma as the go-to example for Game Theory—highlighting alternative "poster-children". It's essentially a primer for anyone interested in getting into Game Theory, and a fresh perspective for those more experienced. These also exist in podcast form and there are many more Game Theory related posts on the site.

A thought: in an online world of algorithms, you're not just being served a feed that's popular—you're being shaped by it. Choosing what to subscribe to restores your agency in what is served to you, so you determine what becomes popular rather than what's popular determining you.

Complex systems science can help bridge the gap between the physical and social sciences.

I can’t see how anyone can celebrate the 4th of July this year. Knowing it’s coming up gives me a deep dark pit in my stomach. At this point it just feels like another all white good ol rich boys club holiday.

Data is entirely correct. Complex systems can behave unpredictably because most are stochastic. The human brain is the most basic complex system, but others include cellular automata, physical systems, chemical systems, ecosystems, economic systems, social systems,…
Data explains complex systems.
