Maybe I'll actually post something on this one.
Praying for that 11am timeslot with the schedule release tomorrow.

I agree the shots were low xG chances, and I also think that the off-ball movement and timing didn't give the player with the ball an obvious better option to shooting. Lots of tough/impossible passes or low xG shots.

The secondary run needs to be with the initial flow, it can't just be two guys charging and then needing them to hold an extra second or two for other options to arrive.

32' - Tani is sitting on the six with a defender in his pocket. Not an option. Lod arrives late (outside of the 18 until after the shot) and while I agree the hold and center may have developed, Yeboah had 3 D collapsing on him, so I understand taking the shot.

30' - Bongi cuts from a good spot to a bad spot, putting two defenders between himself and the ball. Had he just drifted back he was sitting in a nice seam to bring things central or cause the 2nd defender to come out and open the shooting lane (still not a good angle shot, but removes one obstacle)

24' Tani would need to pass through the defender to get the ball central. Probably needs to hold up. Yeboah isn't there on time to support and was on the other side of the defender.

I think we agree more than disagree here, I just put some responsibility on the off-ball players to make easier options for the player with the ball. 13' - 100% agree, play the cross.

Part of that is on the off-ball attackers. I feel like every time they got in deep the whole front line was deep in the six so the cutbacks weren't there. That allows the D to collapse hard on the runners, taking the cross away. They need layers there to open up options.

Here we go.
