Embedded within the EPA–SL, the NDC Partnership in-country facilitator coordinated the NDC 3.0 update process, organizing and leading consultations across districts to ensure participation from government entities, civil society, the private sector, women, youth and vulnerable groups.

Supported by @bmz.de, the EU and @giz.de through the NDC Partnership, Sierra Leone’s NDC 3.0 was developed under the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA-SL).

Adaptation priorities include:
🌾 Scaling climate-smart agriculture to support the Feed Salone strategy
💧 Enhancing water security and coastal resilience
🏥 Strengthening health system resilience
🛤️ Improving infrastructure resilience
🌳 Expanding disaster risk reduction

Mitigation priorities include:
⚡ Expanding renewable energy
🥣 Transitioning to clean cooking solutions
🚌 Promoting electric mobility
🗑️ Improving waste management
🌲 Restoring forests and mangroves

These discussions will help facilitators strengthen climate action in countries.

Through this three-part exchange, in-country facilitators from 🇫🇯 Fiji, 🇵🇬 Papua New Guinea, 🇳🇷 Nauru, 🇲🇭 the Republic of the Marshall Islands, 🇼🇸 Samoa and 🇻🇺 Vanuatu looked at practical ways to strengthen implementation and investment planning, coordination and resource mobilization.
