Really? After all the damage and obstruction Schumer has caused, he is LAUDED for this? Next time, he might give a really long speech.

Many many politicians promise things that they never deliver. Because of barriers, other priorities, sometimes because they never intended to. I want to focus on the destructive things this administration is doing, rewriting the system in a way that will be nearly impossible to right.

Israel admitted to arming and housing those gangs

And they’ve been wishing for it for years. I think it’s a big mistake to blame this year’s sorrows on one person. There’s a reason that he got voted into the office.

Again. Thank God for the media. The newspapers that have the funding and support to do these investigations. Every day I find out about something that authorities would not have taken seriously, even if they knew about it. And then a newspaper exposes it. So thank you.

So they just skipped right past the “death panel”. Instead, it’s “whoever makes it through the gauntlet”

That really is getting to be an old excuse. He didn’t even ask for a censure.

Apologize? That makes it better?

The American people want a ceasefire in Gaza. Will you stand up?

I think what people are reacting to is Jeffries calling his speech ‘good trouble’. Because that’s a phrase that John Lewis coined to talk about the marches where he and others got beaten to near death.

Pretty audacious to compare talking for 8 hours to what John Lewis went through. Already got your fundraising text, though. Thanks a lot.

So you are comparing John Lewis’s harrowing fights and marches, which he called good trouble, to standing up and giving a speech that has no chance of influencing anything?

did Penn say that it was specifically Palestine? I would honestly like to know. I have long been pro-Palestine. And I gave the max donation to Kamala Harris. My belief: aiding the genocide was one of the number of ways that Democrats didn’t stand up, didn’t deliver for its voters.

This is not factually true. The number of people who stayed home because of that specific issue was pretty small. The number of people who talked about it, really big.

I can’t argue about the shares, or the media in general. I do think that this is one message Democrats are getting across. In focus groups and surveys voters know that this bill hurts lower income people in order to benefit the rich.

I think Trump said really clearly multiple times that that was his goal. And I believe people knew that when they voted for him.

I would wager that Schumer and Jefferies are likely to agree that Mamdani is “Unamerican” So supporting him might ruin the DNC brand!

Yes. Before criticizing Israel as genocidal, we have to keep reminding everyone that Israel is the real victim.
July 1, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Unfortunately, Biden didn’t either. All the things happening now were put into play by his administration.

I need to be more positive, and be buoyed by these small silver linings
