I know the feeling... waiting for orders to arrive at your door... in the same mood as waiting for Santa during Christmas night as a kid :)

Can't fight aging... I personally found out using magnifying glasses improved my scribing work. Give them a go if you have the opportunity!

Clean job! Well done :)

Tamiya's 1/48 lineup is nice but yes, a little hard in the eyes... Good progress btw! :)

It can't hurt the plastic :) a good habit to have to increase the chances of painting going smoothly. Unless the kit stinks (mostly old kits) I do it after taking the parts out the runner and surface prep etc. to clean out hands oils, sanding dust etc in one go!

Thank you for the clarifications! I thought I didn't recognize the usual marking for this kit, you made your own mix ^^

I see now why gunpla is also known as plastic crack ...

The gold on the scope is really nicely done indeed! And good job on the white parts too (white paint is notorious for being difficult...). For the loose wrists, you could try painting the ball part to thicken them and stiffen the joint!

It has a multi-part fuselage from that sense it might cause some issues. Nothing too hard tho (I managed it xD), Hasegawa is solid. Easiest build would be Tamiya IMO!

Ooh! I think I see it now! Thank you for the clarifications. Then it should be fine! Good recovery work! :)

Also, I am not sure expect where the breakage happened from your photos but it might be better to reinforce the area, with cement alone a functional part has high probability of breaking again from my experience...
January 17, 2026 at 5:22 PM
Oh, that is rare for Bandai, usually tolerances are spot on... maybe they slacked a little since it was not a high volume product? ^^" When parts are tight, it is usually recommended to sand a little or alternatively silicon oil is plastic safe!

The RG Sazabi is a superb kit, almost like a scaled down MG! Expect lots and lots of parts! But looking at your work on the Blue Destiny you will probably be ok, good luck!

Yes, I have been hearing good things about those :)

Nice, very clean job!

Turret texture: stippling Tamiya Putty thinned with cement, then lightly sanded. Rubber tracks were forced into a realistic sag using markers as shims until the glue set.

Excellent finish. Great work!
January 17, 2026 at 1:39 PM
You're welcome! ^^ Good luck and by the way, your first panel lining experience is better than mine. Mine was with markers and I made a way worse mess than you did!
