They key part of this is that if this is an extraordinary circumstance, then just refund my flight cost, because if it's so extraordinary, it can't happen that often, and they key point being, I didn't do anything to delay my flight yet I still had to waste 5 hours of my life

Jet2 won't do anything because a bird strike is an "extraordinary circumstance" so not their fault. It's not my fault either yet they didn't have the capability to get me home on time? I'm paying the airline to get home at that time, they should work out how
