Finishing another art practice course. Scanned the drawing from my notebook, the added color using photoshop.

So I was doing some touch ups to sunset background in #Photoshop. Accidental enabled the sky blue background in the first #Illustration. Because the layers were set up as “color” layers instead of “normal” layers, they blended together and accidentally created magic.

One of the great advantages of digital is painting and drawing is layers allowing to test alternates. Added another layer in #Photoshop to create a sunset variation of the #Illustration

Continuing with the #Illustration, dropped the lineart, using color alone to represent shape and form. I feel like the lineart from before was better. That said, I like the way the orange gradient of the sky came out. #Photoshop had a rake brush which made nice gold waves for the ocean

Side note. My laptop unexpectedly shutdown mid painting using #Photoshop. When I booted up again and opened my PSD file, this is what I saw. I had been working on this FOR 8+ HOURS. When I say I cried real tears

Started with this base sketch with flat colors. While I liked the painting and texturing I did in the later images, I still feel like this “starting point” was my favorite. I love #lineart. I can convey so much shape and with just one line, that would require a lot of shading if using color only

Tried to do some background drawing for my OC #Illustration. The field of tall grass wasn’t the original intention, I wanted draw him walking through a battle field, damaged buildings, the look on his face being sadness of chaos and destruction of his country. But drawing building ruble defeated me.
