YES!!! I just applied for an open "citizen" seat on our county planning board and they appointed me! Our county commission consists of 5 Republicans and they still picked me. I'm sure they know my voting records or party affiliation. I'm doing it! At 52 years old, I'm finally getting involved!

Tonight, here in Western NC, we saw a car slow and then stop on the road just below our house. Expecting someone up to no good, we went outside to watch. We saw a man get out and shoo a very large opossum down the road, as he didn't want to run over it. There are still kind people out there. 💙

They do! It's amazing to have most of the other birds up on our feeders and the Towhees and Juncos down on our deck, scraping up all of the food that's been dropped. Such a beautiful balance! I love to see them forage through light snow and then leave behind little sliding feet marks. 😊

Sooo happy to see you guys here! 🤗 It's a pretty happy place, in comparison to the other options. I also watch and count birds. Right now, we have a wonderful mix of the winter and spring birds... from dark eyed juncos to Eastern towhees to downy woodpeckers, tufted titmouse and NC chickadees! 😍
