Many thanks to Team Cherry for this very fun and rewarding experience, I got frustrated sometimes but mostly just had a blast with Silksong and am happy I stuck with it through Act 3. It's been like a part time job to me this month lol. Hard to give it anything less than a 9.5 out of 10.

Pew pew can be fun but have you tried pushing blocks to create new paths lately (there's even a sokoban section in Blue Prince lol)

Have been into Build Engine stuff again this week since I discovered you can access the editor in PowerSlave Exhumed, which at the very least seems a little more user-friendly and has a short PDF guide included. No idea if it can be used for more than just PowerSlave though, legally or otherwise.

One of my favorite features of Pokemon TCG Pocket is you can spin the packs to open them from the back, just like a streamer would do to heighten the anticipation before they flip each card around to the camera. It definitely increases the immersion for me.

What an amazing update. Happy 20th Birthday, Half-Life 2.

Feels like every few months I'll discover an awesome new SNES game I've never heard of, and this time it's Nosferatu.

If you also got lost/didn't recognize the blood trail is something to follow at the beginning of the SH2 remake, I noticed there's also a bright yellow sign with an arrow pointing directly at the street you need to go down, in the direction of the blood trail and critical path, hah.

Nice job, Bsky. Can't believe it's been a year since I joined already.

And S Ranked the Legendary Trial, it's fun to optimize now that I know each game pretty well.

My left thumb hurts but I got all S Ranks in Nintendo World Championships. Some games like Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, and Kid Icarus can be pretty frustrating due to the controls, but I still am having a great time with it. Just wish there were more online features and more robust games/challenges.

A few books I'm checking out while I'm learning Python. Modern Game Testing just came out last year so very excited for that one.

New keyboard is an EPOMAKER RT100 and I'm really into it so far. I've joined the thocky revolution.

think I'm going to check out "30 Years with Doom" next on the stream, which is a full 32-map megawad by the Russian Doom community released last year in celebration of Doom's 30th anniversary. You can download it here if you want to play along: www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/...

won a round of Balatro finally, using the yellow deck for the extra cash to start. Had a nice suite of jokers that got stronger whenever I used a Planet card or added a card to the deck, and I had the Baseball Card to multiply all the uncommon jokers. Got to Ante 11 using Mr. Bones, fun stuff.

Got another of these 90s game level creation guidebooks after seeing this video, think it's actually still gonna be pretty helpful in making Build Engine maps. A lot of outdated/obsolete text but still fun to read, and some genuinely good tips so far. youtu.be/WbzNQEsEhrU?...

Some final shots from my entry for the Quake 1 Remix Jam; we had to build a new single-player level based on a multiplayer level from another game in about 2 weeks. I was very deliberate with this one and feel like it turned out well considering the infamous layout that it's borrowing.

Seems like there won't be any more fanfare about Trip World DX launching on Switch finally, but don't miss it if you haven't played it yet. It's a brilliant little Game Boy game that looks stunning in the new color palette by Yuichi Ueda. It's inspired by Gimmick! but has a lot of its own charm too.

Really glad I got a Super Game Boy 2 and GB flashcart. There's so much utility with both, and the games look awesome this way. The SGB2 can't play every GBC game, but otherwise it's really fun to mess with different pallettes on it and see the enhancements for games like Donkey Kong.

Had to think about this all day but here's my top 25 games in alphabetical order, for the moment at least. topsters.org

Reload Magazine Map Jam pack is out now, worth checking out just for the beautiful Start map. Excited to play through everyone else's contributions. www.slipseer.com/index.php?re...

Glad I was able to finish this Quake map this week, it's been really tough to make time for non-work projects this year. Balancing remote work with going into the office has definitely helped though, I really needed the change in space.
September 10, 2023 at 12:41 AM
It's a tiny map, but it's playable now at least. Should definitely have time to polish it up a bit before the deadline.

If I'd have been born 10 years earlier, I bet I totally would have messed with Doom shareware CDs like this, but I mostly just played Nintendo games. We always had a potato computer growing up too.

Got the girl squad together last night finally, gonna try to stick with Karlach, Shadowheart, and Lae'zel through the rest of the game. I just still want some thieving capability without Astarion, so I might respec Shadowheart or my PC wizard soon.
