Dad (and pug dad). Husband of author and all around great person @lauragaddiswriter.bsky.social. Machine for turning coffee into (noncommutative algebra) theorems.
Book #16 of 2025: Liar's Poker by Michael Lewis. Usually I'm a big fan of Lewis' writing, but this one didn't grab me.

If you're in #Louisville today, come check out the Louisville Book festival at the convention center and pick up a signed copy of #Mosaic by @lauragaddiswriter.bsky.social.

Book #15 of 2025: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig @matthaig.bsky.social. Interesting concept that explores the nature of regret and the different paths our life can take.

Book #14 of 2025: Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. Probably my third or fourth read of this book. I need to make a more regular habit of getting to the Granfalloon in Bloomington every year. Last time I went I caught a fantastic concert by the Flaming Lips.

Had a couple fun days in Chicago doing #math, then capped it off with a fantastic @nin.com show! #nothingcanstopmenow #NIN

Book #13 of 2025: We Were Eight Years in Power by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Such a fantastic writer. He lays out in full view the lingering effects of slavery today. Also be sure to check out his Black Panther run. #booksky

Trying to understand a theorem led me back to one of my favorite bits of math writing. There are two ways to compose paths in a quiver and my confusion traced back to the fact that the authors were using function notation. #mathsky

Visited @landlockedmusic.com in Bloomington last week. The Jack White album was the one I came in for, the others were 5 for $10 in the discount bin. #score #cds

BTE is still around. Saw them at Summerfest last year and there was quite the crowd.

I might be a bit of a fanboy though.

Book #12 of 2025: Girlfriend in a coma by Douglas Coupland. I think I missed the point. Also I've been slacking on summer reading. Too much #math. #booksky

Kind of over-the-moon about this. This was my third attempt at this (plus many other grant attempts that didn't work out). We need more grant opportunities like this to support mathematicians in the US. Thanks to @amermathsoc.bsky.social and @simonsfoundation.org! #mathsky #academicsky

Book #11 of 2025: The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. I know it's a classic, but I really wasn't digging this one. #booksky

Book #10 of 2025: The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie. A friend recommended @annleckie.com for #sci-fi but picked a #fantasy novel instead. I was thrown by the use of second person at first but then I really got into it. #booksky

Made it to the Sessanta tour last night in Milwaukee. A Perfect Circle and Puscifer were great. Primus sucked, obviously.

Met Tito Santana today, a fantastic wrestler from the 80s and 90s. Nice guy, too.

Book #9 of 2025: A Rare and Dangerous Beast by Lloyd Mullins. First #western I've read in a while. Fascinating story of Anatoly Lukyanov (Nate Luck), largely based on a true story, as he discovers his place in America during a tumultuous time in the country's history. #booksky 💙📚

Book #8 of 2025: The Electron Ghost Casino by Randoloh Healy. First #poetry collection in a while. I especially enjoyed the #math poems. #booksky
