Zidane doesn’t say that though, also FF9 has a freaking war criminal (Beatrix) that is never truly confronted about the shit that she did, is casually forgiven and her unbelievable actions swept under the rug and is left to stay as an unbeatable god-mode Sue. Even Kuja gets an undeserved redemption.

-and doesn't have events to recount, just several failed attempts at helping people, a poor love story with Garnet and one big "deep" scene where he learns his stupid backstory and gets sad. (which only lasts for just a "convincing" few mere minutes)

I thought FF9 was about romance and love? (Which it didn’t even do a good job of that with how Dagger treats Zidane like shit and is standoffish to him most of the game, she is a bad waifu) the FF7 example is based though.

This is one of the dumbest conclusions ever. If you want to talk about fascism, you should compare it with actual fascist states, not the Soviet Union. Even then the Soviet Union wasn't destined to be destroyed like you are implying, the U.S. had to rig it. Keep falling for NATO propaganda.
