"Johnston County has banned gay pride flags in schools but is deadlocked for now on removing wording from its anti-discrimination policies that explicitly protect LGBTQ+ students and school employees." The school board voted 4-2 on Tuesday to approve new limits on what can be displayed at schools.

Justice Allison Riggs was sworn in on May 13 for an eight-year term on the North Carolina Supreme Court, ending a six-month legal battle over the ballots of 65,000 voters challenged by her opponent, Jefferson Griffin, who finally conceded the race on May 7.

Update: Today, the NCSBE has formally petitioned for NC Supreme Court to bypass Court of Appeals & immediately take up Griffin's election protest. Riggs supports this; Griffin doesn't. The stakes: Whether Griffin would need a 4-2 or 3-3 SupCo vote to overturn election. #ncpol
