This is the kind of Skullduggery that pisses me off. When I applied for my Top Secret Clearance in the Air Force they turned over every rock during the process. (Cold War Years) I got it but it took months. I was shocked to find out a Presidential Candidate (i.e) doesn’t have to go through similar.
I don't want to sound alarmist or anything, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to skip FBI background checks and bury congressional ethics reports about nominees to the most important posts in the federal government.
