I dare folks to Google “Utah student murder.”

Charlie Kirk is far from the first person to die in a state that allows guns on campus. Calling Utah “one of the safest places on the planet” is straightforwardly pro-violence propaganda.
An excerpt from an AP News story reads: Former Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Republican who was at the event, said in an interview on the e Fox News Channel that he heard one shot and saw Kirk go back. “It seemed like it was a close shot,” Chaffetz said, who seemed shaken as he spoke. He said there was a light police presence at the event and Kirk had some security but not enough. “Utah is one of the safest places on the planet,” he said. “And so we just don’t have these types of things.”

I’ve been working with a team at the University of Michigan on a study about survivors’ experiences with reporting intimate materials that were created or shared without their consent. We’re looking for participants! Please share far and wide!

This book could not have arrived at a better time. @aliadastagir.bsky.social is one of the smartest sexual violence reporters and I’ve been eagerly awaiting her newest project!

Today’s joyful hour was spent baking beautiful cookies with a recipe recommended by @neophytecatomn.bsky.social. In the moments of downtime, I sipped tea from one friend and knit a blanket with a pattern from another.

It was a quiet day at home, but I felt surrounded by good community.

Anyway, this is the finished product. I’m pretty pleased with how much I could fix after a day of learning. It’s a lesson that I’ll be taking with me to a lot of places.
