One chemo infusion can run up to 25k. For my wimpy ass little stage II tumor, I needed 16 infusions. That’s literally a whole-ass house, and we haven’t even touched appointments and tests and a month of radiation OR the surgery. Fortunately we do have great insurance, otherwise instant bankruptcy.
I keep trying to explain to people that if you are an American and 40 years old and have a million dollars in the bank, you are one medical emergency away from being destitute.
Even if you have "good insurance."
And people tell me to stop trying to get sympathy for the wealthy.
