Most people must think I’m absolutely nuts for masking and being covid conscious despite not visiting a doctor in years, but this is precisely why. Our healthcare system is beyond broken and I can’t even imagine how much harder this would be if I was actually unwell.

Also you would not believe the dirty looks and stares I got from staff on the elevator as one of the only people wearing a mask… even from doctors leaving the floors for the NICU and chemotherapy & radiation 🙃

We were all in N95s & I brought my hepa filters but it was still stressful. The head nurse ended up hanging a handwritten sign on her door that said “wear a mask before entering.” Some were nicer about it when we explained that she had an immune disorder, but most were passive aggressive

My mom was recently in the hospital for surgery & I had to ask every single person working to wear a mask before entering her room. They all begrudgingly put on a loose surgical mask but one condescendingly asked my mom if she thought the masks would *actually* keep her safe..
