Using a novel #historical #transport map and a difference-in-differences design that leverages pre-#colonial political centralization as a proxy for #Indigenous mobilization, we find municipalities with stronger Indigenous institutions received less transport infrastructure.

We also heard from our econ students who presented an agent-based model linking social mobility, geography, and rising housing costs. Their findings show how spatial inequality drives housing inaccessibility.
