I’ve had to start this thread again because I’m a numpty and deleted the first post. It’s tough being a #eurovosion fan these last couple of contests. I’m choosing to focus on the songs that give me joy.
Feeling quite lost re: #Eurovision.
The last couple of years have been a lot. I don’t know how I’ll face into the upcoming national finals without a feeling of doom about the entire thing.

I am on tour right now with a book about two gay working class artists who died long before I was born. I’ve visited bookshops and libraries and galleries. And at every event I’ve been welcomed and there has been warmth and community. Books build empathy. The arts connect us. They just do.

I know this won’t come out but I’d really like to know if there are any major differences between countries in terms of how individuals allocate their televotes - ie did some countries benefit from multiple allocations of 20 votes in comparison to the others #eurovision

So my more measured take on #eurovision results (assuming there aren’t massive voting irregularities) - the second place is purely as a result of what we’ve been saying all year; there are no clear front runners.

I dearly, dearly love #eurovision but did not enjoy the results on Saturday night. We were perilously close to an outcome that would be the end of the contest.
We should be able to celebrate the win, not just be relieved that someone has lost.

Unpopular opinion: the Red Sebastian song absolutely slaps and deserved to qualify but he was a little pitchy in parts and I find him difficult to engage with as a viewer. So I can see why it didn’t make it through. I do think we need the juries back though.

3. “Only one Olsen brother” was a bit off given the other couldn’t make it for health reasons.
