There was a documentary on PBS. Ken Burns on the making of The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Ken was exuberant in describing the political support it took for saving public lands for future generations and that built the Park Service as caretakers. I couldn’t watch it; all will soon be lost.

So Colleen just told me a mom joke: “Did you know that on the Canary Islands, there is not one Canary? And on the Virgin Islands? You guessed it. Not one ….Canary.”

President Zelenskyy was set up. There was never going to be a mineral agreement. Putin wants the USA out of the way, will overwhelm Ukraine, and in exchange will give Trump the mineral rights. Mission accomplished.

I saw an ad on network over-air television. It had the feel of an ad one would see on Faux News aimed at retired seniors. It was Pam Bondi, selling the new DOJ. That’s how our tax dollars will be spent in the future, advertising the benefits of the new regime; how we can all invest in it. Or else.

How is it that no one has noticed that Elon Musk is just one letter short of Felon Musk? (F)Elon Musk. Make it so.

I usually give you a song for you to end your day, but not tonight. Save this one for the morning; brew a strong mug of coffee and have it in hand, because this is a banger to start your day. Goodnight, and don’t peek until the morning. Enjoy, friends.

Sheldon and I took a 60 mile golden hour ride on the Nautilus this afternoon; temps in the mid-50°s with clear blue skies. The navigation update we made earlier in the day worked. We traveled the twisties on the Horseshoe Neck/Boones Cave/Goat Pasture Road loop in Davidson County. #nautiluspilot

165 miles on the Nautilus today; 66° in the flat lands, and 52° at the Eastern Continental Divide above Roaring Gap. Sheldon and I made a stop in Elkin and at the overlook in Roaring Gap, and of course a photo op at the Muddy Creek Cafe in Sparta. A gorgeous, sunny day for a ride. #nautiluspilot
