I mean i didnt mind the slowness all the way up till the ring was destroyed, but after that, either its because i had already watched the movies, or i read the books in a pretty quick sucession, i just wanted it to be over already. So it just felt very underwhelming to me in the end.

To clarify further my thoughts, i enjoyed the general slow pace, book 1 was my fav of them. But after dealing with the threat that we were dealing with for 3 books, theres 100 pages more of just basically nothing? It felt really underwhelming. Atleast the scouring of the shire was still ok.

I actually didnt mind any of the travelling or slow pace, or even Bombadil, the book1 is my fav of them all, but i really didnt want 100 pages of goodbyes and gift giving and more travel, after the main thing is already done, you know? It just felt really underwhelming sort of.

Heh, no, i enjoyed it for the most part, its just the last pages that didnt make sense as an ending for a book. In an appendix or a separate sidebook it would be fine.
The scouring of the shire was alright though in those last pages.

Ok yeah, that was the only redeeming factor in those last pages
