…2. Also huge solar farms will make more profits for developers than aggregations of smaller brownfield sites and rooftops. So what do we do ? A : get Gov’t to change the financial and legal incentives to make brownfield and rooftop the way to go … not too difficult is it ?

We in CPRW have been saying this for quite a long time. Why isn’t Government listening ? Well mainly for the usual reason - money ! Landowners have a vested interest in putting solar on farmland - basically free money for at least 25 years….

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

The suffering of civilians in Gaza is extreme. I share the govt's call for immediate release of all those still waiting to be reunited with loved ones. We also urgently need accountability for the Israeli govt's violations of international law. My question to the minister today⬇️

Unite’s commissioned economic research shows restoring collective bargaining coverage to same level as 1996 would create 2.8 per cent GDP boost.

Take the shackles off the unions & allow everyone a right to their labour value added in a market system.

Britain was richer & more equal in the 1970s

I've written to Rachel Reeves about the financial struggles facing councils across the country & the impossible choices they're having to make. Public services have been cut to the bone & we're all feeling the impact. We need to see a wealth tax, not further cuts.

It's time we did something about rip-off rents - and my amendment to the Renters' Rights Bill would do just that. My column for @metro.co.uk ⬇️ #RentControls #GenerationRent

I’m sick of landlords treating renters like cash cows
It’s only fair that if the accommodation renters are being provided with isn’t decent, they shouldn’t be forced to pay for it.

After more than a month on BlueSky I’m disappointed that there don’t seem to be many people posting about non-American issues. It didn’t used to be like that on pre Musk Twitter. Mind you X is worse still - all I see are ads placed by Musk himself, or bot posts supporting his bizarre outlook. Help !

Just one disabled MP sitting on the Assisted Dying Bill committee shows what a sham it is

Kim Leadbeater has announced the committee - just as she's accused of misleading parliament over the proposed safeguards. @h-sharland.bsky.social looks at this latest debacle.

Now I’m living in Kenya where our daughter works. Very lucky to have a balcony looking straight into canopy of Karura Forest

Well this is my first post on Bluesky. I want to leave Musk’s X but wonder how many people I will be able to interact with here. I’m a an ex UN officer where I led the Convention on Migratory Species. Since then I’ve played leading roles in South East Wales on conserving the unique Gwent Levels.
