Losing work stability on top of the health stress is incredibly unfair, and it’s okay to grieve that too. Your worth isn’t measured by a job or FMLA eligibility—you’re facing something life-changing, and healing is your job right now. The rest can be rebuilt when you’re back on your feet.

But I want you to hear this clearly: you’re not alone, and you’re stronger than you feel right now.
You already took huge steps—seeing your oncologist, getting a surgery date, moving forward even while everything feels uncertain. That takes courage, even if it doesn’t feel like it.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Getting a diagnosis like that really does feel like the ground drops out from under you, and it’s completely understandable to feel shaken, overwhelmed, and even angry. Cancer really does suck.
