Interested in the natural world, especially birds. Have been recording birdsong and calls for a few years, with many recordings on Xeno-canto, https://xeno-canto.org/contributor/QKELZYKUGX?dir=1&order=dt born at 314ppm.
#Abberton #EWT walking back to centre, saw a flock of small birds, mostly blue tits and long-tailed tits, then I saw the goldcrests just feeding all around me, magical. Wouldn't say they came close but this photo was taken with my phone! #essexBirding

Stanford Warren this am, heard my first cuckoo. Plenty of Cetti's and reed warblers, amongst others. Highlight was a non-bird, a beautiful adder #essexBirding taken with phone.

Hadn't really noticed this before, though probably should have! - watching a curlew feed at #TTNP this morning and the camouflage provided by the colour and pattern while feeding on mudflats can be appreciated. #essexBirding #birds #UKBirding

Lake Meadows, Billericay today. Nothing unusual. Heard but didn't see the greenfinch singing in its usual spot #essexBirding #birding #UKbirding

I have been audio recording the birds from my small Essex garden, initially for #NocMig but became interested in all birds found. The list is likely to be incomplete I erred toward caution when interpreting the data. The image has the list of birds and the proportion of days recorded. #Essexbirding

On the rare occasions I have visited a site to see an unusual bird, I have not been successful. Today, I saw the velvet scoter at Hanningfield! Pic is heavily cropped #essexBirding

Interesting how the number of redwings recorded appears to be showing a downward trend over my very small garden as November progresses. Note: number of detections does not equal number of birds #essexBirding #UKBirding #NocMig

Morning Nick. This is the book I have. Can't recall how much it was but don't think it was too expensive. There are QR codes and number codes that enable you to check out sets of recordings in Xeno Canto. Covers sedentary species as well but no little owl!

Rest of Herring gull photos from Hanningfield #essexBirding

It was interesting watching herring gulls at Hanningfield feeding today. Not the best photos but they were 'jumping' up from the water and diving under to get what they were feeding on #essexBirding
