I haven't been able to do much proper fungi hunting so far this year, so it was nice to spot this Twig Parachute, Marasmiellus ramealis (on a dead Bramble stem) while we were walking through the grounds of Bethlem Royal Hospital yesterday. 📷 🍄

I was super pleased to find the Lesser Calamint, Clinopodium nepata, still in flower at Lesnes Abbey (LB Bexley) on Tuesday. I thought I had missed it for this year. It has a delicious minty aroma. #WildflowerHour

Butcher's Broom, Ruscus aculeatus, in the vast grounds of Bethlem Royal Hospital. Always a delight to see. I tried to interest Mr O'D in cladodes, which I find fascinating, but he wasn't really paying attention. 🤷‍♀️ #WildflowerHour

I spent a delightful few minutes in the company of a flock of these adorable wee Bumbarrels at Lesnes Abbey Woods yesterday. I am also pleased to discover that another old name for Long-tailed Tits is Mumruffin.

Yes it was! The day we went there was a "meet the mudlark" event. She was showing the gold and amethyst Tutor ring she found on the Thames foreshore, which is currently going through the treasure process, so that was very exciting! I saw the adverts for the Hunger Games and thought it looked good.

I went to visit the twelfth-century mural at St Peter and St Paul Church, Chaldon yesterday. I'm going to be very good from now on, as Hell really doesn't look like much fun, and I want to be scooting up that ladder of salvation.
