As a Nature Guide, showing my clients Willow Ptarmigan in they’re gorgeous winter plumage was one of the highlights of the winter.

It was brought to my attention by @barbc1959.bsky.social about goggle renaming Canadian parks as state parks. @cbcnews-rss.bsky.social @ctvnews-rss.bsky.social

We spotted this adorable Northern Pygmy Owl in Alberta last week! 🦉✨ These tiny owls are known for their fierce hunting skills despite their small size. Nature never ceases to amaze.

It’s been a Great Gray Owl feast for the eyes the past week when I was in Western Canada seeing 33 Great Gray Owls in 4 days!

Winter is owl time!
Snowy Owls have started arriving, and with any luck, we might see some Northern Hawk Owls or Great Gray Owls moving south soon! 🤞

🪵 The Canada Lynx is a ghost of the boreal forest. I’ve been lucky enough to see a few in the wild—silent, elusive, and unforgettable. Did you know their numbers rise and fall with their favorite prey, the snowshoe hare? Nature’s balance in action. Have you ever seen one in the wild?

Species Spotlight:
American Marten’s are a sleek and agile predator of the northern forests. With its reddish-brown fur and bushy tail, this member of the weasel family is both elusive and fascinating. It spends much of its time in trees, hunting small mammals or foraging for berries.
