The US is governed by a lawless traitor who pisses on our constitution daily, and then gets upset when you don’t thank him for doing so. And the #GOP and #SCOTUS are enabling this.
I have a hard time concentrating at work, when our own president is trying to incite a civil war, because his feelings were hurt after we allowed him to be president again despite an attempted coup. #USA #NoKings #FuckTrump

I’m expecting these nut jobs to demolish the east side of their homes now.

ICE ads were also running on @msnbc.com in August. My heart sank.

Oh hey, a photo of why I don’t use either Facebook OR Instagram anymore…

A Ruby-throated Hummingbird visiting bright red Cardinal Flower has been a dream combination of mine for years, and I finally achieved it! Lobelia cardinalis (Cardinal Flower) is native to #Minnesota. Sibley County, Minnesota 09/01/25 #Birds #BirdPhotography #Nature #NativePlants #Hummingbird

I saw this bird from a distance and assumed it was a duck because of how it was perched flatly on this log over the water. But when I looked through my viewfinder, I was surprised to realize it was a Green Heron! Maplewood Nature Center, Ramsey County, MN 08/10/25 #Birds #Minnesota #Nature #Heron

Wild Bergamot, Monarda, Bee-balm -or whatever you like to call it- is one of nature's best natural bird feeders. American Goldfinch will start digging into them sometimes even before all the flower petals have fallen. Hennepin County, MN 08/04/25 #Birds #Nature #NativePlants

I'm always surprised at the variety of birds I find in this particular patch of Common Elderberry. This bright blue male Indigo Bunting really stood out, but I endured a lot of mosquito bites for this image! Minneapolis #Minnesota 08/02/25 #Birds #BirdPhotography

It hasn't felt right to be sharing my nature photos lately, given how much terrible news there is. This world really f'ing sucks, but I'm thankful for the beauty of birds, flowers and insects. Here are 2 Halloween Pennants with backgrounds from a train car & a building. #Minnesota #Nature #Odonata

Any person with a conscience would HAVE to deny their better instincts to keep a job with this administration.

Funny, I was just telling someone that Emil Bove looks exactly how I’d imagine someone would look if they didn’t have a soul -and I used the word vacant too.

This honey bee seemed to be taking a rest, versus looking for nectar. But it presented me with an opportunity for a close-up photo. Pretty good sharpness for handheld at 500mm I think. Minneapolis, #Minnesota 07/17/25 #Nature #Bees

Pretty in pink. Echinacea purpurea (Eastern Purple Coneflower) Native to South & Eastern US, but it's often included in prairie restorations in #Minnesota. 07/20/25 #Nature #BloomScrolling

I finally managed a saveable Indigo Bunting photo from "The Stacks" which is a huge industrial/distribution complex. I firmly believe all the native plants are the reason. The plants bring in a good supply of insects to eat and feed to their young. Minneapolis, #Minnesota 07/17/25 #Birds #Nature

This Spotted Sandpiper chick couldn't have been more than 3 inches tall. My first decent photos of one after trying for years. And maybe my last post for a while, because I can't bear to read the news anymore. Anoka County #Minnesota 07/08/25 #Birds #BirdPhotography #Nature #Wildlife #Shorebird

I've seen these tiny, blue flowers once or twice and not sure I've ever taken any photos. They are some type of "Forget-me-not." Minnesota has 2 native species, but I don't think these are either of them. Twin Cities, #Minnesota 06/08/25 #Nature #BloomScrolling

Whoo hoo! I found a second Monarch caterpillar this evening, just as I was returning to my car. This one was larger than the other I'd seen just 5 days earlier, and looked like it was ready to start forming a chrysalis soon. Hennepin County, MN 06/29/25 #Nature #Monarch #Butterfly #Minneapolis

I've not been able to prioritize birding lately, so it was much needed that I got in a little this weekend. And my first of year sighting of a Dickcissel made it even better! Anoka County, MN 06/28/25 #Birds #Birding #BirdPhotography #Wildlife #Nature

Monarch caterpillars aren't too picky when feasting on milkweed and will even consume the flowers. They have just started blooming within a week or less. This is Common Milkweed, one of fourteen native milkweeds here in #Minnesota #Nature #Wildlife #BloomScrolling

I had some seriously good (although brief) looks at this beautiful Indigo Bunting after work today. It's pretty amazing Minnesota is home to such brilliantly colored birds all summer long. I must've heard half a dozen of them today. Minneapolis #Minnesota 06/19/25 #Birds #BirdPhotography
