It can sound a bit strange at first, but I think a memoir can still work well. Almost by definition, it should look at a slice from someone's life. That could be over many decades, but equally it could be as short as a few weeks or months– theoretically , even less.

Love nettles, seeing that fire reminds me of a handy little tip I learnt a while ago. You just hold the nettle by the stem, above the flames, for about 20 seconds, turning a couple of times. It destroys the sting and you can just eat the leaves straight.

Yep,that's it. Of course, if you're putting them in a stew, or something like that, and cooking them for a while, they will naturally just rehydrate.

No worries, I was thinking it sounded like 'piss' which is not so fancy, obviously. But that's the tricky thing about word association – it has to come naturally to the reader without them thinking too much. It's an interesting challenge. Good luck. 🙂

I have to admit that, even though I'm British and love a bit of slang, I didn't make the association. If you're looking for a word that has a similarity to something kind of disparaging, I wonder if something like 'piz' might work.
