An excellent breakdown of the leaked "peace plan" from Trump's envoy.

Accepting this is not an option for Ukraine if it intends to exist as a sovereign nation. And the consequences are that Ukraine and Europe will no longer be able to count the USA as an ally.

The fastest way to end this war, minimize the risk to US military personnel, and wider war in Europe, is to provide Ukraine all the support they need, and then when Russia collapses, engage with Europe and Ukraine to broker the terms of a lasting and sustainable peace.

Slanted presentation on wolves. Wolves have different behaviors during summer breeding season when they disperse in pairs, feed on small animals and raise pups, and winter when they form large packs to hunt large fauna.

More, it contains provisions preventing courts from limiting their power.

House Republicans have already passed this bill, giving the administration unlimited power (to ignore court rulings that decree their actions unconditional, for example. )

Do you know what’s lurking in the Big Beautiful Budget Bill? It’s not just cutting social programs.

Don't raise income tax, that's high enough already. People that earn a lot of money already pay a lot of income tax.

Tax wealth. The problem is billionaires who pay nothing on wealth gains.

The Sanders Wealth tax plan only starts on wealth over $33M. That's taxed at 1% going up to 8% at $1B.

But you’re going to have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re going to have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re going to have to serve somebody

Ok, that two things I never thought I'd do in my lifetime.

First, support Bernie Sanders and his wealth tax plan.

And now, go back to the Catholic Church.

Sadly, Tesla owners whose cars are vandalized are affluent liberals, that didn't sign up for Musk's actions. They would be Trump's greatest opposition. It wouldn't surprise me if some vandals were working for Trump backers. Using Elon to alienate them is very effective.

We could even lower income taxes to attract more people to live in the US.

What we need to slow is the flow of assets from the working classes to the ultra rich, through mechanisms like loans, mortgages, rent, etc. that are largely untaxed today. Totally untaxed if the owner is overseas.

To be clear, I didn't think we should raise taxes on work, as it is often easy for someone that earnes $10M in wages to simply move to another country and work from there.

We should tax passive income from assets in the US, regardless of where the billionaire owning them, lives.

You are correct. Typo. Meant to write 1980s.

Nice. Here's a May 1st anti-Trump Rally in Denville. A small town in NJ that Trump managed to swing in the last election.

It may be more impactful to tax wealth (the Sanders plan starts at 1% above $33M to a high of 8% above $1B) than work. If you work for a living, you're likely to spend a lot more of your income than the ultra rich generating passive income.

I'd say our current tax brackets on work are high enough.

Typo, 2008, should read 1980s, for Reagan tax cuts.
May 4, 2025 at 9:11 PM
Sorry, yes, 1980s, not 2008. Thanks.

It has gotten worse since 2003, when former Haliburten CEO and then VP Dick Cheney pushed us into the 2nd Iraq war under false pretext of Weapons of Mass Destruction, enriching Haliburten by $36B. It began in 2008 when Reagan cut taxes on the wealthiest 0.1%

Our chance is to unite on taxing wealth

I admire Germany for being able to do this, and hope some true change results.

But Trump uses immigration fear to grab power, attack the judiciary, attack the constitution, stoke fear in his supporters, and prevent them from realizing that deporting migrants WON'T improve their jobs, economics, lives.

That reducing taxes on the rich and cutting services, makes things WORSE.
May 2, 2025 at 11:20 AM
MAGA supporters that quickly point out that prior presidents deported many more illegal migrants, are making my case. If you follow due process, without breaking the Constitution, you won't get interference from judges.
May 2, 2025 at 11:14 AM
Blame the billionaire, not the immigrant.

Deportation is Trump's smokescreen to prevent us realizing the root of plummeting working class wealth is not migrants, but the top 0.1%

But he can't afford to deport all migrants, because then the smoke will clear. So judges get blamed.
