Students cannot learn the “practical skills like reading, writing and math” unless they feel safe, cared for and supported.

My classroom is a safe space where ALL students feel welcomed and appreciated for exactly who they are regardless of their ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion. If this means I am guilty of advancing DEI, then report me.

I am their teacher, cheerleader, mentor, mediator, motivatator, coach and advocate. And yes, I help make sure that those traditionally marginalized students have what they need to be successful in school and life. 2/
