Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads and father figures. Thinking of others who have someone missing at the table today, especially for the first time.

Whatever today means, 🫂

5 years ago today, junior doctors wore scrubs our community made. We did what we could—but science says they needed masks.

Clean air, proper PPE & safe care settings are urgent

Have your say. Petition closes 11 May

Rosamunds work started a movement. It inspires others like me and there is no doubt in my mind that she is improving and saving lives. As a mother, I cannot imagine the strength it takes to stand beside your daughter in this way.

Witnessing the speeches, songs, and poems was profoundly moving. Standing behind Sadiq and Stephen, an embrace underlined to me the deep respect they share with Rosamund no doubt forged through a decade of grief and hard-fought battles.

journey into London without hesitation.

I felt small in the presence of Clean Air Champions Rosamund, Sir Sadiq Khan, and Prof Sir Stephen Holgate CBE, also from Hampshire, alongside Ella’s incredible brother and sister.

The atmosphere was one of celebration, love and strength in collective determination to continue to raise awareness about the dangers of toxic air.

Her mother, Rosamund Adoo-Kissi-Debrah CBE invited clean air campaigners. This is a lady who resuscitated her own daughter. I took the long

the same age and height as my daughter is now, she died.

It was deeply moving to attend the unveiling of Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah’s statue in South London. It was a warm and bright, sunny day which reflected what we heard of Ella’s spirit.

Inhaler in hand, sculpted on Ella’s tiny body are the clothes she was wearing the day before her fatal asthma attack, including the shoes she wore to school.

Ella developed severe asthma shortly before her 7th birthday. Air pollution caused her to stop breathing and at just 9 years old,

🧵Situated in a flower garden in the borough where she lived, a life sized Ella stands happy, confident and full of potential overlooking Lewisham hospital where she was hospitalised 30 times before she died.

Day 2
The air my young daughter was breathing was fine until she entered school.

There was quite the drop in air quality between 8 and 9.30am. Her timetable shows that she was in the RE room.

That environment isn’t a healthy place to sit let alone learn.

It’s fascinating to watch the invisible become visible. Quite addictive actually! It’s early doors but the monitor is super easy to use and seems to have good reviews. Looking forward to seeing readings from her Science and English classes…

The most significant changes in air quality always seem to appear at around 2pm in my daughter’s school. The same is true for CO2 levels.

Inspired by science, it’s a joy to watch my daughter’s curiosity about the world around her grow

We’ve been fortunate to receive a wearable air quality monitor from family. It tracks air pollution in real time, providing PM1, PM2.5, & PM10 levels & Total VOCs

Today she took it to school 🍎✏️

Children in Hampshire and all children across the UK and beyond deserve to breathe clean air inside their classrooms. We wouldn’t expect them to drink dirty water. Why do we still expect them to breathe dirty air.

Daughter’s teacher has encouraged the class to wash their hands thoroughly due to circulating norovirus. 👍 Meanwhile coughs and cold are rife and enduring 👎

Where is the public health messaging for schools?

The air quality outdoors was actually quite good. The filters were in a senior school computer lab. Imagine an inner city school 😳

Air filter after 7 months of school air. There were two, 20’ apart.

I’d rather an air filter clear this muck than my daughters’ developing lungs 🥺

✅Mechanical ventilation
✅CO2 < 1200ppm
✅Windows open 95% of the time
