Temperature change in Japan and the stripes of the city near where I live. Like many countries, Japan has been breaking high temperature records in recent years. But yesterday, I was happy to find tiny baby frogs on hydrangea flowers! 🐸

The lotus bud is light pink and sits on a long stem. It looks like a slender onion with darker pink lines on its skin. Below the bud are several large, pale green leaves. The leaves are wavy, oval-shaped, and slightly similar to taro leaves.

After the rice harvest 🌾 I respect organic farmers and gardeners. Especially weeding in the rice fields during the hot summer is hard work. I felt that the sunset thanked them for their efforts and comforted them.

Bright green fluffy mosses covering the ground are wet with the flowing water. Mosses (Polytrichum?) look like a tail and fennel’s baby leaf and shine green with the water. Some yellow-green and brown colored autumn leaves on the side top.

A large black swallowtail is drinking water from a puddle on the ground. The wings are covered with many scales and shine beautifully in turquoise and sky blue. Each triangular forewing has a black oval spot and thin black lines. The undersides of the hindwings have narrow white and light blue lines and small red, white, and purple spots. (Probably, male summer type.)

We first went to the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum and found a flyer for Amemiya’s exhibition at the exit. We were surprised to see the flyer and decided to check out the Watari-um as well, especially since he worked for the art school when I was a student. Lucky!
Taro Okamoto's studio is full of canvases and unique sculptures. In the middle of the room, there's an abstract painting on an easel. The painting has circles and lines in green, white, black, red, pink, orange, and yellow.

Yesterday, I went to two art museums thanks to one of my best friends, who loves Taro Okamoto. It was really good to learn why Amemiya has been making apple sculptures for over twenty years and to have a touching VR experience.

A medium-sized green apple is melting at the bottom of its side. The apple's top is red and looks delicious, like a real apple. The melting part is as if the apple is sticking its tongue out, saying, "Yum!" There are four wooden sculptures of melting apples on the desk. They show a part of the process of his sculpture, I think. A long shot of the installation. Multiple lights hang from the ceiling, and a video image is shown on the tall wall. There are many apple sculptures and drawings on the long table.
