What could have been interesting is the lead's EDS, which is the only unique part of her classic YA design. Representation is important etc and can serve different needs etc, but suffice it to say that it also wasn't a plot driver and could have been left out without meaningfully altering the book

1. YA can and really should have sex in it not irregularly. 2. the sex in this book fits right in with fanfiction-style porn for which teenagers are not only part of the target audience but who are themselves producing the work. 3. the sex in this book is.... fine. and also not a plot driver
