Happy Birthday to the legendary Marcel Marceau, born on this day 102 years ago. Marceau was probably the most iconic and influential figure in modern day mime. His art brought “poetry to silence,” and anyone, regardless of what language they spoke, was able to understand.

We celebrate Phyllis Frelich today, born on February 29, 1944. Phyllis was one of the founding company members and a mainstay of NTD through its first 12 years. She left NTD to play Sarah Norman in “Children of a Lesser God,” becoming the first deaf actress to win a Tony for her work. #DeafTheatre

Did you know? Famed deaf artist Chuck Baird was also a phenomenal storyteller and acted with the NTD over a decade.

Although no longer with us, Chuck lives on in our memories, his stories, and the art he created. He would have been 78 years old today, on February 22, his birthday. #DeafTheatre
