The bright red rocks of Bryce Canyon are part of the Claron Formation. Deposited in lakes and streams between 40 and 60 million years ago, they contain a variety of sedimentary rocks. Uplift and erosion haved worked away at them since. Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, 12 Apr 2014. #NationalParks

During a week in Florida’s Everglades, we found a rookery that probably hosted about 50,000 birds of numerous species. There were Ibis, Egrets, Herons, Pelicans, Frigate Birds, Anhingas and Turkey Vultures. An amazing sight.
