Thrilled to be shortlisted for the Rhys Davies Short Story Comp! Hoping this one’s a step up from my first story, where a mermaid invited me to tea, I said “Mam says it’s too late,” and she swam off. That was it (still my tidiest ending).

Thanks to the judges and congrats to all! ❤️

Wales Book of the Year stuff. I look like I'm doing a Squid Game trial and am being forced to read for my life, but I do like poems honest x

If you want to support Little Universe, you can vote for it here:

Made the Wales Book of the Year Shortlist! ✨️

Very grateful to be on here with so many writers I'm inspired by. ❤️

Ted says "please vote for Little Universe here so she can use the prize money to adopt me a girlfriend."

Hadn't written fiction for 10 years so this was a lovely surprise to make the Rheidol Prize shortlist for the New Welsh Writing Awards😊📚💕

Banging on about poems (again) at The Hay Festival with Ian Macmillan on BBC Radio 4's The Verb ❤

23rd May, 7pm. It's live, so I need to behave and not start talking about my dog.

Feeling a bit unsettled, manuscript has stalled, so poetry it is tonight. ❤️

Remember on Sunday evenings as a kid in the 90s, when you'd try and convince your parents you were the biggest Heartbeat fan ever so you could stay up?

Weekend= writing and running lately. 🌼

"February, but only just, and the air has lost its bite, turned soft at the edges, like butter left out too long. Below, the sea muscles over the shore, all froth and swagger. It’s the first morning that tastes of spring, and I could eat it by the spoonful."

🌿⛰️TRAIL RUN: FAN Y BIG, CRIBYN, PEN Y FAN, AND CORN DU ⛰️🌿

“The path clambers, a restless muscle of earth and stone, twisting its spine towards the sky...years of climbing have left the land peeled open, raw and exposed. It’s eerie here, muffled and close, my breath a small ghost in the frozen air.”

Today's trail run was a navigational disaster and I got covered in mud and shredded by brambles and got very lost but the views were tidy. 👌🍃

This chapter will be interesting to write. Mishaps always are, right?

Feeling better and it was so lovely to get back to reading with the wonderful people at The Green Room, Porthcawl.

I'm going through one of those rare but much appreciated creative bursts at the moment and having supportive people keeps the momentum going.

Wales is a good place to be a poet. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It's a bad blood sugar day. I'm tired.

Ted knows. ❤️

"Oxwich doesn’t wave its past in your face; it lets you stumble upon it. What it is, is a gentle, constant presence – a place that lets the bay and the cliffs do all the shouting while it leans back, waiting for you to notice just how much it has to say."

Today's run was one of those lovely head-clearing ones ❤️

(I also somehow slipped on a banana skin next to a bin like a cartoon version of myself.)
